The average car’s exhaust system emits a sound registering between 65 and 75 decibels (dB). A passenger jet at liftoff registers a rating of around 130 dB.

This modified Lamborghini Murcielago is claimed to rev at 142 dB, which if true means it’s as loud as a gun firing.

While we can’t be certain how loud this modded Murcielago actually is without heading out and testing it in person, this video of its owner revving the hell out of it shows that the 142-dB claim certainly has some merit.
