Supercar Yacht?

Introducing the $1.1 million Lamborghini-inspired supercar yacht, on show at the Miami Boat Show.

Supercar Yacht: Dream Machine Or Ego Gone Mad? -- CNN

(CNN) -- The height of luxury -- or a vulgar monstrosity?

To its owner, this 15-meter, Lamborghini-inspired speedboat is the apex of nautical engineering. A sleek, innovative, gutsy vessel worthy of its $1.1 million price tag.

But others disagree. When Gino Gargiulo turned up at the Miami Boat Show with his banana-yellow beauties in tow -- the boat and the $750,000 car it resembles -- a small crowd quickly gathered around.

"This is the best boat you can buy -- it's the Lamborghini of boats," says the 48-year-old automobile and restaurant mogul from Miami, Florida.

My Comment: If it is attention that he wants .... he certainly got it with this boat/car.

Vehicles Will Soon Be Able To Talk To Each Other

Vehicles May Soon Be Talking To Each Other -- Voice of America

WASHINGTON — U.S. regulators are close to approving new standards for enabling vehicles to communicate with each other, hoping the new technology will reduce traffic accidents.

Within as little as three years, automakers may be required to equip all new cars with the so-called ‘vehicle-to-vehicle’ communication devices.

Vehicle-to-vehicle, or V2V, is a short-range communication technology that enables vehicles to exchange vital information 10 times per second, about location, speed, acceleration and braking.

Cars will be able to calculate the hazard risk within about 300 meters and alert their drivers or even take automatic collision-avoidance action.

The drivers will be able to see, hear and even feel the hazard signals through vibration of the seat.

My Comment: Another reason to increase car prices .... but what am I interested in is .... can such a system be rigged to warn drivers of speed traps?

2,000-hp Trion Nemesis Angling To Be America's Next Great Supercar -- Autoblog

You can add one more name to the list of boutique builders hoping to break into the automotive industry. This time it's a California-based outfit called Trion Supercars that is launching the 2,000-horsepower Nemesis. It's supposed to be a driver-oriented sportscar and is aimed at the wealthiest people in the world. At the moment it still only exists in renderings, though. "We want to be the Nemesis of the Europeans," said company leader Richard Patterson to Autoblog about in the inspiration for the name.

The company claims the it's going to be one of the world's fastest cars when it's ready, theoretically packing a twin-turbo V8 with more than 2,000 hp and an eight-speed sequential gearbox. The company believes that its creation could hit 60 miles per hour in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of over 270 mph. If that is the case, then it would put the newcomer against the heavyweights like the Hennessey Venom GT and Koenigsegg Agera One:1.

A Gold Vinyl Ferrari 458 Spider

The £200,000 supercar belongs to kickboxing world champion Riyadh Al-Azzawi

Ferrari Rocher: Undefeated Kickboxing World Champion Covers £200,000 Supercar With Garish Layer Of Gold Vinyl -- Daily Mail

 * The Ferrari 458 Spider belongs to kickboxer Riyadh Al-Azzawi
 * It reportedly cost £4,000 to cover the car with gold vinyl
 * It was snapped while the fighter was training at a nearby gym

Supercars are always something of a status symbol and Ferraris come pretty high up even that lofty hierarchy.

However, for kickboxing world champion Riyadh Al-Azzawi just buying one of the flashest cars on the market isn't enough.

The Iraqi fighter went even further, wrapping his £200,000 458 Spider with gold vinyl - for the comparably reasonable price tag of £4,000.

The 20 Most Expensive Cars In The World

Maybach Exelero

The 20 Most Expensive Cars In The World -- The Richest

Interestingly enough, a list of this magnitude makes cars like Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche appear quite reasonably priced, for the richest of the rich that is. Many of the speedy, goosebump-inducing, high-performance vehicles listed here are made in limited quantities and are sure to pack a punch. Some of these car manufacturers are unheard of, but those driving them can definitely afford to consider looking into other modes of transportation, you know, such as jet planes or yachts — no big deal.

My Comment: The Maybach Exelero is the most expensive .... at $8 million. Wow .... a car that is worth $8 million .... what a strange world that we live in.

A Look At Some Amazing Cars That Students Are Driving At The American University In Dubai

Lamborghini Gallardo

The Parking Lot At The American University In Dubai Is Full Of Amazing Cars [PHOTOS] -- Business Insider

Dubai's police force is known for having a stable of amazing vehicles, and it turns out the city's students aren't doing too badly, either.

Meeka Nasser is a student at the American University of Dubai, and took these photos of the amazing cars that fill the school's parking lot.

He wrote: Because Cayennes and Range Rovers are a dime a dozen here, I only included a few of them in the album.

Keep in mind, almost all of the students are between 18 and 24 years old, as the graduate program is pretty tiny here. The students that drive the insanely expensive cars (Rolls Royces and Bentleys etc.) are usually local (Emirati) for those wondering.
